SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

As long term residents of the North West, the directors of Point Developments take their social responsibilities seriously and in particular the welfare and respect of indigenous cultures

Point Developments actively seek joint venture partnerships with indigenous corporations to help maximise opportunities for all parties involved

In 2010 we began one such partnership with the Bunaba people on a major housing project in Fitzroy Crossing.

Point Developments also operates an indigenous employment program whereby we aim to employ 20% of our construction workforce from local indigenous communities where possible.

An excellent example of our commitment to indigenous employment can be found at Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat. Here, a partnership with the Yawaru people has seen young indigenous people complete trade apprenticeships during the construction process and go on to receive acclaim for the successful operation of cultural tours at the retreat.

ENVIRONMENTAL

By building on the strong environmental ethos pioneered by Australian Eco Constructions, Point Developments is committed to developing property in a manner which is both sustainable and in harmony with the natural environment.

As the developers behind Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat, a tourism resort which features the first solar-hybrid power system ever to be used in the southern hemisphere, it is fair to say that the directors of Point developments know a thing or two about getting the best out of today's eco-technology.

We actively look to the future to help us predict tomorrow's building trends and practices. By incorporating the very latest eco- technology into our developments such as solar energy, grey water recycling systems as well as ensuring each property we develop achieves a minimum 7 star energy efficiency rating, we believe we can bring you tomorrow's home, today.

ECONOMIC

Whilst social and environmental commitments are now widely embraced amongst responsible businesses, at Point Developments we also believe in leaving positive economic legacies in the areas where we develop.

By actively seeking to develop in remote, less developed areas, our projects help to boost local employment, encourage further investment and improve local prosperity.

Our economic responsibilities are carefully considered in line with developments undertaken to ensure that properties and businesses within the area of influence are not adversely impacted by projects completed by our company.
